A well functioning Stonestove starts with a properly build fire. Collect wood, matches, some crumpled paper and maybe some firelighters. The wood should be dry and chopped in small pieces.
Place some small logs of wood in the combustion chamber of the Stonestove - vertically - and let them lean against the back of the chamber.
Place a firelighter, kindling or some crumpled paper in the centre of the stack and light this. Never use inflammable liquids!
Wait for the fire to properly burn and for the flames to come out of your stack of wood before placing new logs.

Close the door of the combustion chamber. You can manually regulate the air supply with the knob above the combustion chamber (more - less) and the valve underneath the window.
Oxygen fuels the fire: you’ll get a more rapid combustion by supplying more air. This way you can also refuel glowing and smouldering logs into a burning fire again.
