1 A well functioning Tilestove starts with a properly build fire. Collect wood, matches, some crumpled paper and maybe some firelighters. The wood should be dry and chopped in small pieces.
2 Place some small logs of wood in the combustion chamber of the Tilestove - vertically - and let them lean against the back of the chamber.
3 Place a firelighter, kindling or some crumpled paper in the centre of the stack and light this. Never use inflammable liquids!
4 Wait for the fire to properly burn and for the flames to come out of your stack of wood before placing new logs.
5 Close the door of the combustion chamber. You can manually regulate the air supply with the valve underneath the window.
6 Oxygen fuels the fire: you’ll get a more rapid combustion by supplying more air. This way you can also refuel glowing and smouldering logs into a burning fire again.
